One of the primary issues discussed in the presidential race of 2016 is immigration. All of the candidates have different ideas and plans they promise to implement as an approach to dealing with illegal immigration. According to the American Immigration Council, the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA) allow a worldwide limit of 675,000 permanent immigrants, yet there are almost 12 million undocumented immigrants living in the US today. In recent discussions of immigration, a controversial aspect has been the deportation of undocumented immigrant children and families. Some argue that children and families should be allowed to stay in America and be given legal status and others argue they need to be sent back to their home countries as soon as possible. Neither of these arguments fully addresses the issue. On this website we will consider other options such as temporary legalization and deportation of immigrants who are criminals or are causing problems. We examine the actual effects of immigrants on the US and recommend the best solution that will benefit not only the US, but the refugees as well.
